In Paris’ 6th arrondissement it is difficult to make a choice between the many attractive restaurants. On a random Saturday, we decided to go for Séraphin, located closely to the marché couvert St. Germain.
On this warm Summer evening, the windows of the corner restaurant were opened, creating a nice interaction between the vivid street life and the animated discussion in the restaurant. The dishes were all very nice. We tried the verrine of avocado, salmon and shrimps, the foie gras de canard, followed by a traditional steak tartare préparé par nos soins and the entrecôte béarnaise with frites maison. Friendly service, home-like ambiance, well prepared food and a clean and stylish environment. What more can you want?

Sushi, maki, californian rolls, sashimi, temaki, as well as various fresh seaweed salads and plenty other Japanese dishes you don’t even know the name of, that is what you see passing by if you sit at the 41 meters long conveyor belt that surrounds the kitchen of Lô Sushi in Paris. You can also order warm dishes if you prefer. Prices are easily marked with colour codes, recognisable by the colour of the plate your choice is served on.
Although you would not estimate the number to be so high, you can enjoy the tasty flavours with approximately 100 other guests. Located on the corner, behind Japanese curtains lies a very peaceful restaurant. Go try this place that is said to be Paris’ most trendy sushi bar! Tip: the entrance door is at the corner of the street.

Preparing for a weekend break to Paris, the web vented some rumours about Abercrombie & Fitch coming to Paris. Curious to find out which store models they would use in France, the search continued offline.
If the grapevine is right, the store is going to be located just around the corner of the infamous Avenue Montaigne and the Elysées, closely to metro station Franklin Roosevelt. Indeed construction works (drastic ones!) are taking place behind a beautiful gate, right next to the Thai Airlines office. We’ll keep a close eye to what is happening there! Will it be a Christmas opening? Or are we too wishful?

As a child, I spent many summers in France, particularly in Normandie and Bretagne (Brittany). When I read in the newspaper yesterday that La Sarrazine moved from Genk to Hasselt, I simply had to go there and try the traditional ‘breton’ food.
Easier said than done! Ms Cécile Chabert simply brought every culinary goody she could think of from Brittany to Hasselt. Apart from the largest selection of galettes (traditional salty buckwheat pancakes), she offers a wide choice of sarazettes (a variation on the traditional croque), salads and glaces (icecream). Today my friend and I had the galette atlantique (with smoked salmon, crayfish and smoked trout, tomatoes and onion) and the galette la bergère (with emmental and goat cheese, pear, chicory, honey and walnuts), but we definitely need to go back to try more!

The citizens of Hasselt have long been waiting for it: a restaurant that serves Asian food, including sushi’s. Of course, one can eat sushi at Le Refuge or De Goei Goesting, but those are not Asian restaurants. Now, owner Kris Reekmans and his friend Manu Sirirottikon have opened Tasty Bowl right in the city centre, at the former location of Comerç34.
At Tasty Bowl, you find an efficient restaurant. In the setting of a regular restaurant you can eat flavoury dishes. From spring rolls, dim sum, maki, sushi, to curry, noodle soup and much more. An innovative (for Belgium!) Do It Yourself principle is applied (a self-named alternative for fastfood restaurants). You enter, choose a table, pick up a menu, choose your dishes, go to the counter and order. A Thai waitress will be back within minutes, serving the freshly prepared meal (all courses at the same time, in a good Thai fashion). If you get thirsty, no longer do you need to fight for the attention of the serving personnel, you simply get up, and order it at the counter. The same goes for the check, as you pay directly after ordering. This DIY approach allows for Tasty Bowl to keep prices affordable and very attractive. For a two course dinner for three, we paid only € 51,- including drinks and enjoyed every bit of it!

Not only the melodious name and modern, designy interior show that this is a place that has been thought of with care. Loloquoi offers a wide variety of pasta’s and other original dishes. We had the fusilli feta and the poulet tajines and liked every bite of it. Service is quick and friendly.
